2010 Tasmanian Statewide Series - Information

Details of the 2010 Tasmanian Statewide Series have been released, with the first round being held on 22 February 2010 at STKC.

CLASSES:

1. CADETS Minimum of 4 entries, always pay 1st 2nd 3rd
2. ROOKIES Minimum of 4 entries, always pay 1st 2nd 3rd
3. JNR NAT LIGHT Combined
3. JNR NAT HEAVY Combined
4. JNR CLUBMAN Minimum of 4 entries
5. SNR NAT LIGHT Combined

6. CLUBMAN LIGHT     
6. TAG RESTRICTED LIGHT Combined running behind Clubman Light

Total of 15 classes (15 red plates for winners of TASMANIAN CLOSED CHAMPIONSHIP)

COMBINED CLASSES to have separate finals if minimum entry of 6 per class received at close of entries, and time permits. Classes will be separated all day only if track capacity is exceeded.

RACING at each round to be 3 heats and a final.

CLUB TITLE TROPHIES at each round. 4 entries 1st only, 5 entries 1st & 2nd, 6 or more entries 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Entries are those received by close of entries date. Late entries are rear of grid.

ENTRANTS must compete in a MINIMUM OF 3 OUT OF 4 ROUNDS to be eligible for series. Entry does not constitute competing. Entrants must race on the day to be counted.

IN ANY ONE ROUND ENTRANTS CAN ONLY ENTER ONE WEIGHT DIVISION OF A COMBINED CLASS.

AN AGGREGATE OF ALL ENTRIES per class will be tallied at the end of the Series and trophies awarded as below:
•    24 and above entries: 1st, 2nd, 3rd
•    21 to 23 entries: 1st, 2nd
•    6 to 20 entries: 1st

ONE ENTRY DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A RACE and therefore does not count towards Series points but, as long as you are able to race on the day in a combined class, does qualify you for minimum entry qualification. (i.e. counts towards your 3 out of 4 to be eligible)

EXAMPLE 1:

6 Clubman Heavy’s and 1 Clubman Super Heavy enter and compete, the Clubman Super Heavy can race, as 1 of his 3 out of 4 rounds, but no points would be allocated towards the Series.  

EXAMPLE 2:

3 Clubman Light’s, 6 x Clubman Heavy’s, 2 Clubman Super Heavy’s enter. Class combined all day and all drivers competing for series points in respective classes.

EXAMPLE 3:

If Cadets, Rookies or Junior Clubman are cancelled (less than 4 entries) then no points are allocated and the round does not count towards the 3 out of 4.


TAS CADET CLASS SPECS: Driver limitations as per Midgets Chapter 41 but to also be able to use:
•    Comer S80 @ 2008 spec
•    Comer SW80 as per AKA Manual
•    Yamaha J with 13mm restrictor @ 95 kg.

TROPHIES and RED PLATES to be awarded at LKC presentations on June 13th. This presentation will be held immediately after the LKC Club Title presentations.

RED NUMBER PLATES won for the 2009 series can be used until the presentation of the 2010 Series, and ONLY in the class that the plate was won.

ENTRY FEE: $60.00 per round for all drivers.

SERIES to start at STKC Club Titles on 21st February 2010.

The dates of the Series are:
22nd February at STKC    2nd May at NWKC
21st  March at CHKC    12/13th June at LKC

Host Clubs retain the right to cancel combined classes where total entry for the combined classes is less than 6 at close of entries. If combined class is cancelled then no series points allocated, and round does not count towards qualification for the series.

POINTS SYSTEM PER RACE:  25,20,18,16,14,12,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,0.

POINTS to be updated after each race meeting on Tasmanian karting websites.

The Committee reserves the right to add to the conditions if deemed necessary.

Last years series was a huge success with over 600 entries. We look forward to an even bigger and better series in 2010, racing for the coveted Red Plate as winner of the 2010 Tasmanian Closed Titles.
